Job description
Our client is seeking a suitably qualified registrar in Nephrology for Jan 2027 in the South West of Ireland.

Fixed Term, Wholetime
The successful candidate will:
Provide safe and effective clinical care to patients under the supervision of the Consultant Nephrologist and wider medical team.
Assess and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic renal conditions.
Participate in the assessment and management of patients with acute kidney injury and electrolyte and acid-base disorders.
Gain experience in the management of patients receiving haemodialysis and other renal replacement therapies, as appropriate.
Participate in inpatient ward rounds, outpatient clinics and day-to-day management of nephrology patients.
Liaise closely with the multidisciplinary team, including nursing, pharmacy, dietetics and other relevant services.
Participate in the hospital's out-of-hours and on-call arrangements as required.
Attend to referrals and provide appropriate nephrology advice within the hospital.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and discharge summaries.
Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement and clinical governance activities.
Participate in teaching and supervision of medical students, interns and other junior medical staff.
Maintain professional competence through continuing professional development and relevant educational activities.
Carry out other duties appropriate to the grade as directed by the supervising Consultant and/or Clinical Lead.
Job requirements
Hold full MRCPi or MRCP UK
Registration with the Irish Medical Council.
Valid up to date ACLS Certificate
Have Passed the IELTS / OET Exam if applicable. All NCHDs taking up employment with the HSE who were not registered by the Medical Council in any divisions of the Register of Medical Practitioners prior to the 01/01/2015, or who did not complete the entirety of their under-graduate medical training in the Republic of Ireland, are required to provide evidence of IELTS or OET or completion of their medical degree in any of the following countries – UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or United States.
