Role Overview
Under the supervision of a Consultant and Clinical Director, the Registrar in Medicine will participate in and deliver a high-quality General Internal Medicine service. You will manage acute admissions, perform daily ward rounds, and support on-call and weekend rosters. Continuous professional development through structured educational programmes (HSELanD/CME) is a core part of the role .
Key Responsibilities
Participate in daily ward rounds and manage inpatients, acute admissions, and emergency cases.
Provide on-call coverage (General Internal Medicine), including nights and weekends.
Collaborate in multidisciplinary team meetings and liaise with allied health professionals.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to clinical governance standards.
Engage in professional development activities, audits, and quality improvement projects
Job requirements
Eligibility & Essential Qualifications
Fully registered with the Irish Medical Council (active IMC registration clearly stated on CV)
Proven experience in General Internal Medicine (minimum 2–5 years post-internship, depending on vacancy).
Demonstrable GIM on-call experience (mandatory)
Evidence of English language competency (IELTS or OET), where applicable
Postgraduate qualifications (MRCPI, MRCPUK) and BLS/ACLS desirable
Two professional references (minimum one from most recent employer)
International Security (Police) Clearance
