Job description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, person-centred psychiatric services within a progressive and supportive healthcare environment.
The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care of adults experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions. The role involves working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, service users, families, and community partners to ensure safe, effective, and recovery-focused care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consultant-level psychiatric assessment and treatment for adult patients.
Lead and support multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of evidence-based mental health services.
Participate in service planning, development, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives.
Supervise and support non-consultant hospital doctors and other healthcare professionals.
Contribute to teaching, training, research, and continuous professional development activities.
Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with all relevant professional, legal, and ethical standards.
Job requirements
Essential Requirements
Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland in Psychiatry.
Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent specialist qualification.
Significant experience in General Adult Psychiatry.
Demonstrated clinical leadership and commitment to high-quality patient care.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Criteria
Experience in service development and quality improvement initiatives.
Involvement in teaching, research, and postgraduate medical education.
Experience working within community mental health services.
