Locum - Consultant Anaesthetics

Our client is seeking a locum Consultant in Anaesthetics for an initial period of 12 weeks with the possible scope to extend the term.

The ideal candidate will be providing high-quality anaesthesia services across surgical specialties and contributing to multidisciplinary care.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team in a well-equipped, modern hospital. The role involves delivering anaesthesia services, participating in on-call rotas, and contributing to teaching, clinical audit, and service development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide consultant-level anaesthetic care across elective and emergency services

• Participate in the perioperative care of surgical patients

• Supervise and support NCHDs and other healthcare professionals

• Engage in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives

• Participate in the General Anaesthesia on-call rota

• Contribute to the teaching of medical students and junior doctors

• Support multidisciplinary team meetings and service development

Eligibility Criteria:

• Registration: Applicants must be registered on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland in the specialty of Anaesthesiology

• Experience: Proven clinical experience at consultant or senior registrar level

• Training: Completion of specialist training in Anaesthesiology (CCST/CCT or equivalent)

• English Language: Must meet HSE English language proficiency requirements
