Job description
Our client is seeking a motivated Registrar in Endocrinology & Diabetes Mellitus to join an active multidisciplinary team.
This post offers excellent clinical exposure across specialized endocrinology clinics, inpatient ward management, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM/insulin pump) services, and general internal medicine on-call duties.
Key Responsibilities
Inpatient & Outpatient Care: Manage admitted endocrine/general medicine patients and conduct outpatient clinics under consultant supervision (diabetes, thyroid, lipid, and general endocrine).
On-Call Rota: Participate in the Registrar General Internal Medicine (GIM) un-social hours on-call rota for acute medical admissions.
Multidisciplinary Teamwork: Collaborate closely with Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS), dietitians, podiatrists, and surgical teams for complex diabetes and metabolic management.
Procedures & Diagnostics: Assist in and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., dynamic endocrine testing, fine-needle aspiration biopsies, glycemic control data).
Teaching & Audit: Supervise interns and SHOs, participate in weekly grand rounds, and lead clinical audit and quality improvement projects.
Job requirements
Registration: General or Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) at the time of commencement.
Qualifications: MB BCh BAO (or equivalent medical degree); completion of Core Medical Training (MRCPI / MRCP or equivalent is highly desirable).
Experience: Minimum of 3–4 years post-qualification clinical experience, including dedicated training in General Internal Medicine and Endocrinology.
Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Language Proficiency: Demonstrated English language proficiency meeting HSE requirements (IELTS / OET if applicable).
