About the Role

Woodston Personnel have an excellent opportunity for a Dental Hygienist in Co. Mayo. Our client is seeking a qualified and motivated Dental Hygienist to join their their friendly and patient-focused dental practice. This practice follows a non-fluoride, preventative, and holistic approach to oral health. This role is ideal for a hygienist who is passionate about patient education, long-term oral health, and working within an alternative care philosophy aligned with informed patient choice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dental hygiene treatments including scaling, polishing, and periodontal care, in line with a non-fluoride treatment approach

  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, diet, lifestyle factors, and preventative strategies that support oral and overall health

  • Carry out periodontal assessments and maintain accurate clinical records

  • Deliver preventative care in accordance with practice protocols

  • Support patients in making informed decisions about their oral health

  • Work closely with dentists and the wider dental team to provide personalised, patient-centred care

  • Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, professional guidelines, and practice policies

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming clinical environment

Job requirements

  • Qualification in Dental Hygiene recognised by the Dental Council of Ireland

  • Current registration with the Dental Council of Ireland

  • Alignment with, or openness to working within, a non-fluoride / holistic dental care philosophy

  • Excellent communication and patient education skills

  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail

  • Previous experience required - 1 year minimum
