Job description
Our client is inviting applications for the position of Consultant Neurologist to join their dynamic multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will provide specialist care in Neurology, contributing to both inpatient and outpatient services, and will support the development of neurology services in line with national clinical strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide consultant-level care to neurology patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
Participate in and develop outpatient clinics and inpatient neurology services.
Deliver emergency on-call cover as part of the neurology rota.
Collaborate with other consultants, GPs, nurses, allied health professionals, and community services.
Contribute to clinical governance, service planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
Engage in continuing professional development and education.
Supervise and support junior medical staff, including NCHDs.
Participate in clinical audit and research activities, as appropriate.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Registration as a Specialist in Neurology with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
Possession of a relevant higher specialist training certificate (or equivalent).
Proven experience in the management of a broad range of neurological conditions.
Demonstrated commitment to high standards of clinical practice and patient care.
Desirable Criteria:
Subspecialty interest (e.g., epilepsy, movement disorders, MS, neuroimmunology), aligned with service needs.
Experience working in an Irish healthcare setting or equivalent.
Participation in research and/or teaching activities.
Job requirements
