Job description
Woodston Personnel is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant in Metabolic/Genetics to join the Genetics and Precision Medicine Department at a leading healthcare facility in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering expert clinical care to patients with inherited metabolic and genetic disorders, participating in multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development and implementation of personalized medicine strategies within the institution.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive clinical care for patients with inherited metabolic diseases and genetic conditions.
Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings for the diagnosis, management, and follow-up of patients with rare genetic disorders.
Interpret and communicate genetic test results effectively to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Collaborate with laboratory geneticists, genetic counselors, and other healthcare professionals in both pediatric and adult care settings.
Offer expert opinion and guidance in prenatal, neonatal, and adult metabolic and genetic cases.
Contribute to strategic planning and service development within the department.
Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, audits, and clinical governance activities.
Mentor and supervise junior medical staff, fellows, and trainees.
Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely clinical records in accordance with institutional policies.
Participate in or lead clinical research and innovation in the field of genetics and precision medicine.
Present at national and international conferences and contribute to peer-reviewed publications.
Support the implementation of precision medicine approaches using genomics and other advanced diagnostics.
Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, fellows, and allied health professionals.
Deliver seminars and training workshops in clinical genetics, metabolic disorders, and genomics.

Job requirements
Essential Certifications (One of the following):
US Board Certification in Medical Genetics or Clinical Biochemical Genetics
FRCS from Ireland, UK, Canada, New Zealand, or Australia in a relevant specialty
Diplôme d'Études Spécialisées (DES) / CIS – French Board certification in Genetics or Metabolic Medicine
Facharzt (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) with subspecialty in Clinical Genetics / Inborn Errors of Metabolism and relevant fellowship experience
CCST – Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (UK)
Minimum 3–5 years post-board/fellowship experience in clinical metabolic and/or genetics practice, preferably in a tertiary or academic setting.
Proven track record of clinical excellence, multidisciplinary collaboration, and leadership in the field.
Experience with next-generation sequencing, biochemical genetics, and personalized therapeutic approaches is highly desirable.
