Job description
Woodston Personnel are seeking an experienced and accomplished Consultant in Neonatology to join a prestigious hospital in Saudi Arabia. The Consultant will provide expert clinical care for newborn infants requiring advanced and intensive medical management. The candidate will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of neonates with complex or critical conditions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care within the neonatal service. In addition to clinical duties, the Consultant will contribute to teaching, training, service development, and quality improvement activities within the department.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of newborn infants in neonatal intensive care, special care, and postnatal settings.
Oversee the treatment and monitoring of preterm and term infants with medical, surgical, or congenital conditions.
Lead and participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization at deliveries and during emergencies.
Ensure continuity and coordination of care through effective communication with parents, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
Promote safe, evidence-based, and family-centred neonatal care.
Provide clinical leadership and guidance to junior doctors, nurses, and allied health staff within the neonatal unit.
Participate in departmental and hospital meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement activities.
Contribute to service planning and policy development to enhance neonatal care standards.
Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and nursing staff in neonatal and paediatric care.
Participate in ongoing professional development and ensure the team remains updated on best clinical practices.
Engage in clinical audit, research, and data collection to support continuous improvement in patient outcomes.
Promote a culture of evidence-based practice and quality assurance within the neonatal service.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with hospital and professional standards.
Adhere to medical ethics, confidentiality requirements, and institutional policies.
Maintain current medical licensure and fulfil continuing education requirements.

Job requirements
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
US Board/ FRCS - Irish, UK, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma d'Etudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / Spain
Must have at least 3-5 years of post-consultant or senior specialist experience
Eligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
