Job description

Woodston Personnel are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant in Interventional Cardiology to join a leading healthcare institution in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will provide expert diagnosis, management, and interventional treatment for patients with cardiovascular disease, with a strong focus on coronary and structural heart interventions. The postholder will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred cardiovascular care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings while supporting service development, teaching, research, and clinical governance activities.

Duties and Responsbilities

  • Diagnose and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.

  • Perform interventional cardiology procedures including:

    • Coronary angiography

    • Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)

    • Primary PCI for acute myocardial infarction

    • Intravascular imaging and physiology assessment

    • Temporary pacing and other catheter-based procedures

  • Participate in cardiac catheter laboratory services and on-call rota.

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient cardiology consultations.

  • Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, radiologists, and allied health professionals in multidisciplinary team meetings.

  • Ensure evidence-based clinical practice and adherence to national and international cardiology guidelines.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and development of cardiology services.

  • Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance programs.

  • Participate in audit, risk management, and patient safety activities.

  • Mentor junior medical staff, fellows, and trainees.

  • Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.

  • Contribute to clinical research, publications, and presentations where appropriate.

  • Maintain continuing professional development (CPD) and professional accreditation.

Job requirements

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

US Board/ FRCS - Irish, UK, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma d'Etudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / Spain

Must have at least 3-5 years of post-consultant or senior specialist experience

Eligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)

or
