Job description

Woodston Personnel are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation to join a leading healthcare institution in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering comprehensive, patient-centred rehabilitation services, supporting individuals to achieve optimal functional recovery and quality of life.

Duties and Responsbilities

  • Deliver specialist consultant-led care in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, including comprehensive functional assessment, goal setting, treatment planning, and ongoing review

  • Lead the medical management of patients with complex rehabilitation needs, including neurological, musculoskeletal, spinal, amputee, post-trauma, post-operative, and chronic disability conditions

  • Coordinate and chair multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to ensure integrated, evidence-based rehabilitation programmes tailored to individual patient goals

  • Provide expert input into spasticity management, pain management, mobility and seating, prosthetics and orthotics, and assistive technologies, as appropriate to service scope

  • Oversee inpatient, outpatient, and community-based rehabilitation pathways, ensuring safe, effective transitions of care and timely discharge planning

  • Work collaboratively with acute specialties, primary care, and community services to support continuity of rehabilitation across the care pathway

  • Ensure high standards of clinical documentation, outcome measurement, and adherence to national and local clinical guidelines

  • Contribute to clinical governance activities, including audit, risk management, service evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Participate in service development and strategic planning to enhance rehabilitation provision and patient outcomes

  • Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and teaching for junior doctors, trainees, and members of the multidisciplinary team

  • Support research, innovation, and adoption of evidence-based practice within the rehabilitation service

  • Participate in on-call, advisory, or cross-cover duties in line with service requirements

Job requirements

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

US Board/ FRCS - Irish, UK, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma d'Etudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / Spain

Must have at least 3-5 years of post-consultant or senior specialist experience

Eligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
