Job description

Woodston Personnel are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant in Pediatric Interventional Cardiology to join a leading healthcare institution in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering advanced catheter-based diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart disease. The role includes leadership in clinical care, participation in multidisciplinary cardiac services, supervision and training of junior staff, and contribution to quality improvement, research, and service development.

Duties and Responsbilities

  • Perform and interpret diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures in pediatric patients, including neonates and infants

  • Conduct complex interventional procedures such as device closures, balloon angioplasty, stent implantation, valvuloplasty, and hybrid procedures

  • Provide pre-procedural assessment, intra-procedural management, and post-procedural follow-up care

  • Participate in inpatient and outpatient pediatric cardiology services, including consultations and clinics

  • Collaborate closely with pediatric cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and neonatologists

  • Participate in emergency and on-call interventional cardiology services

  • Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, including cardiac conferences and case planning sessions

  • Provide expert advice on interventional strategies and patient selection

  • Support the development and expansion of pediatric interventional cardiology services

  • Supervise, mentor, and train pediatric cardiology fellows, residents, and catheterization laboratory staff

  • Participate in teaching programs for medical students and allied health professionals

  • Promote a culture of clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuous learning

  • Ensure compliance with international standards, clinical guidelines, and institutional policies

  • Participate in clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Contribute to the development and review of interventional protocols and pathways

  • Maintain accurate documentation and procedural outcome reporting

  • Participate in clinical research, innovation, and clinical trials related to pediatric interventional cardiology

  • Present and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and scientific meetings

Job requirements

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

US Board/ FRCS - Irish, UK, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma d'Etudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / Spain

Must have at least 3-5 years of post-consultant or senior specialist experience

Eligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
