Job description

Woodston Personnel are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our client’s hospital in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred care across obstetrics and gynaecology services, contribute to clinical leadership, and support service development in line with best clinical practice and national guidelines.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide consultant-level care in obstetrics, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal management.

  • Manage high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies.

  • Deliver comprehensive gynaecological services, including outpatient clinics, inpatient care, and surgical procedures.

  • Perform elective and emergency obstetric and gynaecological surgeries as required.

  • Participate in on-call rotas for obstetrics and gynaecology services.

  • Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based clinical practice at all times.

  • Provide clinical leadership within the obstetrics and gynaecology department.

  • Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, and risk management.

  • Contribute to service planning, development, and implementation of clinical guidelines.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, trainees, and medical students.

  • Participate in teaching and training programmes.

  • Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) and appraisal activities.

  • Support and participate in clinical research where appropriate.

  • Work collaboratively with midwives, nurses, anaesthetists, neonatologists, and allied health professionals.

  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, ensuring informed consent and shared decision-making.

  • Promote a culture of respect, safety, and patient-centred care.

Job requirements

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

US Board/ FRCS - Irish, UK, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma d'Etudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / Spain

Must have at least 3-5 years of post-consultant or senior specialist experience

Eligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
