Job description

Woodston Personnel are seeking a qualified and experienced Consultant in Hematopathology to join a leading healthcare institution in Saudi Arabia provide expert diagnostic services in hematologic diseases. The Consultant will work closely with the clinical hematology and oncology teams to deliver accurate and timely pathology interpretations that are essential to patient diagnosis and treatment planning. The role also includes active participation in education, research, and quality assurance programs.

Duties and Responsbilities

  • Perform expert analysis and interpretation of bone marrow biopsies, lymph node biopsies, peripheral blood smears, and other hematologic specimens

  • Diagnose hematologic malignancies including leukemias, lymphomas, myelodysplastic and myeloproliferative disorders

  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools such as immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, and molecular techniques

  • Collaborate with clinical hematologists, oncologists, and other specialists in multidisciplinary team meetings

  • Review and verify hematology reports to ensure accuracy and quality

  • Contribute to laboratory quality control, accreditation compliance, and safety protocols

  • Engage in teaching and supervision of pathology residents, medical students, and laboratory staff

  • Participate in academic research, audits, and continuous professional development programs

Skills and Computencies

  • Expertise in diagnostic hematopathology including neoplastic and non-neoplastic conditions

  • Proficiency in ancillary diagnostic tools (e.g., flow cytometry, molecular diagnostics)

  • Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities

  • Commitment to continuous improvement, teaching, and clinical excellence

Job requirements

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

US Board/ FRCS - Irish, UK, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma d'Etudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / Spain

Must have at least 3-5 years of post-consultant or senior specialist experience

Eligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
