Job description
Woodston Personnel is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant in Hematology to join our client’s medical team at a leading healthcare facility in Saudi Arabia. The consultant will be responsible for providing comprehensive specialist care in hematology, including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with benign and malignant blood disorders. The role includes inpatient and outpatient clinical services, laboratory hematology oversight, multidisciplinary collaboration, participation in teaching and research activities, and contribution to service development and clinical governance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Diagnose and manage patients with hematological disorders including anemia, clotting disorders, leukemias, lymphomas, myeloma, and other blood diseases.
Conduct outpatient clinics and inpatient consultations.
Provide expert interpretation of hematology laboratory investigations.
Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings for oncology and hematology cases.
Develop individualized treatment plans including chemotherapy, transfusion therapy, and anticoagulation management.
Participate in on-call hematology services as required.
Support quality assurance and governance within hematology laboratories.
Review and interpret blood films, bone marrow aspirates, and related diagnostic tests.
Collaborate with laboratory scientists and pathology teams to ensure high-quality diagnostic services.
Supervise and mentor junior doctors, trainees, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.
Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
Contribute to continuing professional development (CPD) initiatives.
Participate in clinical research, audits, and quality improvement projects.
Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based clinical guidelines.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in data reporting requirements.
Ensure compliance with clinical governance, patient safety, and infection control standards.
Participate in departmental planning, policy development, and service improvement initiatives.
Promote effective communication and collaborative working across specialties.

Job requirements
Essential Qualifications (One of the following certifications is required):
US Board Certification in Hematology (Internal Medicine pathway or Pathology pathway)
FRCS / FRCPath / FRCP (Hematology) – Recognized from UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand
Diplôme d'Études Spécialisées (DES) or CIS – French Board in Hematology
Facharzt (Germany, Austria, or Switzerland) in Hematology with subspecialty training or fellowship
CCST UK – Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Hematology (UK)
Minimum 3–5 years post-board/fellowship experience in Hematology
